I just bought a laptop chain thingy. It connects to the security slot on the side of your laptop and then ties around a drainpipe or something similar.

Nobody is stealing my laptop unless they take the whole desk with them. Plus the noise from it will deafen them.

I'm getting one of them.
If any of those foreign types try to steal it I'll gut them... like a frog.

I'm thinking I might either hide it under the floorboards (cunning!), chain it to something like you said, or attach one of those house-arrest alarm type things, so if it goes outside the radius of my room (obviously not when i have it), it will either explode or give out a nasty electric shock/'help i'm being raped' sound. Something like that.

OR I could make a false laptop so any thieves would take that and not think to look for another one.

Where are you staying?! Is it some crime infested hell hole?

A fake laptop is pretty hardcore.

better safe than sorry. It'll make for good stories when I'm old, too.

I have an Acer laptop somewhere

It is actually really small and light but the battery has long died, Windows 95 and only a floppy disk drive. Was good at the time, I guess.
