Got it cheaper then everyone probably. First impressions are 'Meh'.
Loved GTA 3, loved Vice City but this one isn't getting off to a very good start.
Played it for about an hour and a bit this morning and am about to go back on it to see if I can get into it more. I was starting to before I left.
The thing ruining this game so far? The rubbish rubbish visuals in the more built up areas. No need to sound like a GRAPHICS OVER GAMEPLAY guy but I just found it quite unplayable with the sub-par graphics. This massive city and they try and plonk it all on the PS2 capabilities. In the more built up areas I felt I was playing a early PS2, late PS1 game. I think it may of been the time of day in-game actually.
I remember palying Vice City for the first time and thinking, yeah this looks good. But with this it's like, ummmmmm this is making this game very confusing.
However, I did venture out into the countryside and was met with some good visuals there which wer emore relaxing on the eye and easier to take in. Stuff wasn't so crammed in everywhere. Some nice weather effects in places. I remember walking up a hillside and seeing the trees, the trees looked good. I like trees. The whole feeling of escaping the town and sitting on a tractor going through the hills was great. A fresh feeling. Man, I sound like some Harvest Moon playing hippy.
So with this graphics thing...does anyone know what I'm saying?

I tatally agree! In vice city you cant get to grips with your inner murderer because it is so open and sunny but in a bleak city you can let your freaky imagination run wild

I love you, Sheepy. Having said that, it's the sort of thing I'd do.
With VC and the first, most of my time playing was spent just pishing around, rather than trying to complete it.
> The sun is giving me a very sore head
I think the graphics are adequete enough, but the sun glare is a bit annoying. In Vice City it added a nice warm atmosphere, but in San Andreas it's too strong, half the time it's difficult to drive cos you can't see.
I crash my cars in the water and watch them sink
I knocked some dude and his wife off their bike, because I wanted it. I slammed my Camper van into it.
They came flying off. I jumped out, and the guy got up to get on the bike. Pointed the gun at his wife, shot her once, he went running, shes like ohhh no I just got shot and continued trying to walk, so I shot ehr again and she gets a bit more "crap I'm actually gonna die here", So I then finish the job.
And I now wonder why my eyes are pants...
I didn't like vice City at all... this is better.

heh, me too I had a major headache last night mainly due to the sun!
