Bad, bad news. Credit cards are a scam. They say "Here have some credit, we wont charge you for the first 6 months.", they mean "after that 6 months KA-BLAMO, we can now legally bend you over a barrel with our crippling interest charges".

I'm not even going to get into how much money t'other half owes on credit/store cards and loans taken out to pay them off...

But it's enough to make us financially uncomfortable for a few years and her Mum who kindly helped us out put off her retirement for a few more years...

They all start off that way.

I've had one since I was 18. managed to not use it all the way up until I was 21, then it became too tempting to just 'put it on the credit card until I get paid'. But you don't pay it off, and face-raping interest puts on more than you seem to be paying off with the minimum payment.

It's very easy to lose a battle with a credit card.

I've been approved for a credit card, and I'm not even old enough to have one. The internet banners told me so.

If I can help it, I'm only ever going to have a debit card.
