Freeview is a pile of garbage, well mine is at least. Only about 1/3 of the channels I have on it actually work due to the lame signal booster, and the majority of those are dreadfully dull anyway.

Get Sky, or if you've already got it then get another box for £99 or whatever it is. The extra cost is most definitely worth it if you intend to get a lot of use out of it.

Not bad but you may want one with audio out (so you can hook it upto a hi-fi).

Also, make sure your Tv license is up-to-date. When I brought mybox from curreys I got a letter asking to return this slip stating if I had a Tv license at my address. A bit of an under-hand tactic by the BBC.

Hmm. My friend and I both have indoor ariels. I get all the freeview channels with a booster and he gets around half without.

I have to agree. No more snowy stuff (which i'm sure can't be very good for your eyes). The only thing is that if you do have a weak signal you get a abstract eray of lines. Freeview is worth it if you get a decent box for around £40 but it's worse in some ways than cable due to the repeats (and they are a lot). E4, ITV 2, BBC3, Men and motors and the hits are some of the better channels but the good thing about freeview is that it's getting better allthe time (ie: the recent launch of E4 and ITV interactive which is coming this summer).

You should check your area on http://www.freeview.co.uk/canireceivefreeview/ this will tll you what channels you are likely to be able to get, i found that things like signal boosters limit the numebr fo channels i got as it cleans out the weaker ones.

It's nice to have if only for a perfect picture all the time.
