My brother likes a lot of the same films as me and was always a reliable person when it came to actually going to the cinema - my missus doesn't like many of the films I do and so refuses to take me to the flicks for some popcorn and a grope in the back row. The trouble is my bro's gone and got himself a woman, has moved house and now lives 40 miles away and so is reluctant to drop everything and rush over when I ring up and say "Let's go to the pictures!!11!1".

To make matters worse there are currently four films (count 'em) I really want to see, specifically on the big screen - three of these I've been waiting for (HHGTTG, War Of The Worlds, Episode III) and one I didn't know much about but now feel I need to see (Sin City).

Damn my brother and his love-life.

Going to the cinema during the day denotes an unemployed child molester more than going alone.
Although when I saw Crash, there were an awful lot of single guys in the audience and I felt uncomfortable even with my mate there

When I was in Canada I often went to the cinema alone - especially when in Toronto, just before I came home, as I wanted to see a bunch of stuff that wouldn't be out for ages back in the UK.

Of course, that was back in the days before worldwide releases on the same day...

Sin City, Batman begins and Mr and Mrs Smith are films I'm looking forward to. Will have to wait for my mate to come back from uni though.

I want to see League of Gentlemen and Sin City, but my bird refuses to go and none of my friends want to either. I'm considering going on my own one lunch time, but I'd feel like such a lonely hobo.
