What's the thingymajig you use to measure the velocity of a river?

I enjoyed Geography.

I wasn't crap enough to have to ask on an Internet chatroom for help with it though.

Hmm, why do schools give us a choice of History or Geography when they know we'll hate whichever one we choose???

Heh. We had 4 teachers go up, (about 60 of us) and one was so damn fat.. She keeled over and had to go back to the coach.

our teacher was a fat greedy coont. He probably spent the budget on wine...hence the corks!

yup, when we went to snowdonia for our coursework we measured the velocity of rivers with a cork and a stop watch.

I searched on google and.....:

'Velocity can be measured using very simple equipment. A watch capable of timing in seconds, something to float on the water and a tape measure are all that is required to find the velocity of the water surface. If you wish to find the velocity of the water below the surface, a velocity meter of some kind will also be required'
