I bought a new PStwo yesterday, and am having some minor issues with the display.
I've had an original PS2 since its UK launch, and have a true, fully-wired RGB cable which I bought from GAME.
With my 'old' PS2, the cable gives a crystal clear, pin-sharp picture on my Sony WEGA TV. But when I connect the cable to the new machine, there's a 'ghost' outline (like a badly-tuned TV) around everything on screen - like you get if you connect the PS2 using the supplied composite cable.
All the settings are the same, so I don't know why this is happening. It's usable, but very annoying when you're used to a perfect picture!
Have Sony disabled true RGB output on the new machine, or is there another explanation?

Interesting theory, but I'd like to know what you base it on when this thread clearly proves otherwise.
I post a simple message asking if anyone has had a similar 'problem' with a PStwo, and the very first response is a 'whine' about Sony releasing a revised version of the console, containing nothing of the slightest relevance to the question asked. The thread then begins to descend into a Sony v Nintendo slanging match.
I wouldn't mind so much if there was a dig at Sony and THEN something even loosely connected to the question. But no. Exactly the reason I don't bother visiting these forums with any regularity any more. I'd have thought people would have grown up by now, or at least got tired of the same old crap.
If someone starts a Sony v Nintendo v Microsoft thread, then by all means spit all the bile you want. But if someone asks a simple question and you have nothing informative or constructive to add, here's a tip... simply don't reply.
> Hey Wookiee good to see you back :)
I'm not back - this isn't permanent! Just wanted to see if anyone had had the same issue. But thanks for the sentiment!
I've asked on the uk.playstation.com forums, but haven't phoned support yet. GAME (where I bought it from) have said I can take it back - they'll check it out and replace it if necessary.
(yes i am clumsy :-D)

True enough. But people constantly whine at Nintendo, and don't at Sony. And I haven't heard one GBA SP that still (if it ever did) have problems.
Have you asked Sony Support?

Yup!

Can you say "GBA SP"?
