How do you get a link to open in a new window in Dreamweaver? It's an image if that makes it any different.

*Shrug* I've been working in IT (helpdesk / hardware / programming) for nearly 10 years now. I'm just about to move into web programming for a very well know company.

I'm still a WoW addict, and frequently upgrade / rebuild my home machine.

[edit] How long do you mean by "most of his life?" I'm genuinely curious. It implies that he was around in the field in the 70's / 80's to me.

You mean HTML and not javascript, and paste the text into notepad before transferring it into Dreamweaver, that gets rid of any fancy formatting.

In fact, what do you want to put into the head anyway, theres only a few tags that need to go there normally.

Kind of off the current subject but on the original. Anyone know how to enter the part of javascript in dreamweaver? For some reason it doesn't like you pasteing directly into the code window and the insert/html/script option just inserts it into the body. Any ideas? Only other thing I can see is Insert/html/headtags but these seem to all be for meta tags and the like.

Icarus, I was warned offIT jobs by someone who worked in the field for most ofhis life. You should see how stressed hegets over simple things such as driver conflicts (due to the fact he barely wants to touch the computer).

I was thinking of doing another degree in Neuroscience after this. Or join the RAF. Or even get a dull IT job. All depends on how next year goes.

A mate of mine who I haven't seen for an age has a degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Last I heard he was doing a Masters whilst teaching at a Uni in Sweden.

Just thought I'd throw my hat into the ring. Thinking of changing my degree when I finally go back to finish it off. I've got a foundation in science (A in Computing, B in Physics, B in Electronics), which allows me to do any science course going, and I've got half the credits for an Audio Tech degree, so wouldn't have to start at the beginning.

I agree that self learning is a good way to learn, but a uni course gives you a structure to that learning, as most of it is self-teaching anyway. The module rarely (well, it didn't in my experience) gave you all the answers to the problems presented and I had to read outside the box a lot. With self-learning and no structure or reward (pass the module, get good marks. annoy lecturers by showing them things they didn't know how to do) it's way too easy to just give up. My dissertation nearly killed me, and if not for the fact I had to do it, I would have given up on it pretty quickly. As is, I was about 3/4 successful in what I outlined what I would do. There were times I didn't think it was possible.

Apart from research and setting up a business using AI, there is no use in everyday IT use.

Yeah, There's a lot I have not used from my course, some of which I really enjoyed. I was top of the year (full and part time) for Artifical Intelligence. Very, very interesting.

Just never have found a practicle use for it...
