Didn't the kid say "Yippee" too? Christ...

Yeah, take away Jar Jar and it's all great. Except for the horrible dialogue, the racially-stereotypical aliens, the Gungans, the pointless decoy replacement stuff, the unnecessary inclusion of characters from the original trilogy for no discernable reason (stand up C-3P0 and R2-D2), the most annoying child actor in the world, midi-chlorians, the endless talk about treaties, trade blockages and senates and it's aallll good.
The Maul fight and the Pod race notwithstanding, it's awful. But I liked it at the time. Watch it again and you'll agree with me. At least, if there's any accounting for taste.

Sounds about right. Did you read his predictions for the Oscars?
*shakes head*
Take away Jar Jar (who isn't that bad) and it's terrific.
Qui Gon Jinn and Darth Maul all the way!!!

In that case, I'm assuming you've seen three, maybe four films tops in your lifetime? And they all starred Jean Claude Van Damme?
Your love of Jar Jar seems to be based on the fact he has a silly voice.

Hardly anyone has the balls to stick their necks out these days. I remember reading 4 star reviews of Phantom Menace when it came out, likewise for AOTC. Now the same publications who published these reviews are quite open about their hatred for the movie, despite kissing bumsy a few years ago.
"Mesa no wanten crunchen...dat da last ting mesa wants!"
What a legend. :D
Anyway, Episode 3 looks great.
But it won't be as good as Episode 1. Awesome film, one of my favourites.
Episode 2 utterly sucked, however.

They gave both Episode 1 and 2 a high grade. I personally enjoyed those 2 movies alot, much better than most movies I saw at the time. I know the Phantom Menace like the back of my hand (ah what a film!).
