Not sure how public this was, girl takes up smoking, mother tells her smoking will kill her and not to do it, girl smokes in bathroom and covers herself in fabric-freshener to hide the smell from her, ends up poisoning herself and dies.
Now mother has put blame on herself somewhat, saying she would have let her smoke in front of her now. Well, yes.
It's rather tragic (poor girl died fitting and foaming at the mouth) and yet strangely and awkwardly funny. There's not enough irony in the news really.
Basically, if you're going to be a rebel, please read the label correctly. Poor girl.
He and I used to loathe each other back in school. I saw him about 2 weeks before he topped himself, and the poor sod looked completely haunted. Wouldn't stop apologising to me for the past (jesus, we were kids...like it matters) and asking "Did you always think I'd come to a bad end?".
'tis a shame, cos when all is said and done, he wasn't a bad lad. Just severely misguided.

He's certainly got some sort of brain damage from what he's done.

I can't remember full names. It's been that *long* ago.
Smudge (your year?), Southgates mate (can't remember his name), Simon (my year), Alan ????s younger brother (speed freak, living in the garage, born again Christian, smack addict) and a couple from Shiremoor that Findlay told me about when I last saw him years ago.
Ah, and there was whadyya call him in my year that was murdered in the garths with the shotgun, but that's indirect heroin. ;D
It's always weird hearing about people you remember as being the most, 17 years old, topping theirselves / being killed / overdosing...

One presumes you did the right thing and told them that they had to shoulder at least some of the blame for driving their loving parent to suicide?
Or did you simply start to call them "No-Dad" in acknowledgement of the event (this actually happened at my school...kids can be entertainingly cruel).

Yup. Poor sod...mind you, if you lived where he lived, wouldn't you want to die?
And Mr Ramsay? I wish he had succeeded in becoming a statistic...
Whom else has kicked the bucket from smack? All the ones from my year who died all managed to do so by either natural causes or suicide. It's grim oop north...

Bwhahahaha. True.
Mr Ramsey was into injecting Vodka straight into his neck. Whilst sniffing poppers (for those that don't know, they speed your heart up hugely.)
That's one of the most irresponsible and idiotic things I've heard.
Well, apart from the 5+ people in or around our year at school that have died from heroin...Hell, even A was a close call wasn't he?

Now I have the image of that girl, lying there covered in Aerosols.
And whipped cream.
One ticket to hell please
I have such a funny image of somebody mashed with cream all over their face.

Well, guilty as charged but I don't think even the chavviest charver would have done so in a small, unventilated room. Whilst smoking.

Perhaps not concentrated fabric softerner, but I'd put money that there'll be people on this forum that have done either / or: -
1) Sniffed lighter gas.
2) Sniffed air freshener (air freshener ffs, who the hell thought up that one.)
And if you had died of it, you would hardly be posting here. :D
