I was talking with Cookie Monster and we both seemed to agree that a games auction site would be a decent thing to have on SR, for people getting rid of their unwanted games, maybe even get decent prices for them and stop getting ripped off by trading them in at game for £20, what do you think??

This is against the principle it was based on, but i now see that a free auction site would be difficult to keep running, however when you say "And SR wouldn't want to get caught up in people paying for things and never recieving them" well they would have to if they were the ones running the auctions wouldnt they, or people would not bid for fear of not getting what they wanted and having no protection against this.

But you said that way was against the priciple we based this on, so I worked my way around it!! And SR wouldn't want to get caught up in people paying for things and never recieving them so they would have to have some sort of legal liability disclaimer.

Believe me I was a law student for 6 months!!

What legal implications, would there be, as long as SR have the registered members names and addresses on fil then nobody would be inclined to do something silly.

With my genius and immense business intellect, why don't they just set up a Forum where people can advertise games and leave contact details or something?? Wont work because the legal implications are too high!! Unless there is a disclaimer linked to the entrance to the Forum which people must agree to to be allowed to enter the forum, that way turbo can keep his php scripts and Sr don't have to invest any money in the technology to set it up!!

Although i believe the annual subscription to SR is only 6.99 or somthing like that, and as long as that entitles you to a whole years trading on the auction site then i suppose this would be a good compromise that would also be an advantage to SR's finances.

So only people who subscribe to SR get to use the auction thing?

I suppose it could work.

I realise this but there must be another way to make it work other than charging for the service, i cant think of it just yet but give me some time and a solution can be found.
