I want Tekken 5 and I want it now. Unfortunately its not relesed in the UK yet. Back in the days of the PS1 you could get your console chipped by pretty much anyone with half a brain for about ten quid. Im sure you can get the PS2 chipped too, but i dont now anyone who does it other than some guy at a computer fair and he charges quite a lot.

There used to be boot disks available for the PS1 later on in its life. Is there such a thing (or anything similar) available for the PS2 that allows me to play NTSC games without chipping?

I agree that Soul Calibur is better than Tekken. I cant believe I'm saying that actually, if you'd have asked me a few years ago I'd have said nothing would ever be better than tekken. However Tekken is still fun and number 5 is suposed to be the best. I'll have to get stuck into those unreleased RPG's. I remember importing Parasite Eve on the orginal PS because that was unreleased over here. Oh the memories.

I think I'd rather just replace the casing myself, in my own time, all under my own control, than fork out some extra wodge and let some random shop guy fiddle about with a soldering iron in my console's giblets.

I have liked Tekken since number 2, it's been surpassed by Soul Calibur now, with seemingly no way of coming back again. But we'll see, I suppose.
There's a load of games that never even made it over here that should be your main importing staple - mostly RPGs, it must be said, but if you like them, you're in heaven.

Search for 'Swap Magic', it lets you play all games (NTSC, chipped etc etc).

I've decided that I'm not going to mess with it myself, at least not yet. There is a shop in the city centre that specialises in this kind of stuff, but they are quite expensive. I think I'll check out how expensive before I buy one of the DIY kits.

So what other games do you recon I should get, seen as you said there are better ones than Tekken?

hmm yeah looks pretty dodgey. chipping sux though and importing everything is pricey. for 20 quid this looks like a good bet, considering what great games u can play if it works. mm suikoden 3.... xenosaga 1/2 etc. if u buy one make sure to tell us if it worked out =D
