I'm a pretty heavy sleeper but that was the loudest storm I have ever heard, it really was impressively noisy.

There was a massive storm here at around 3am. Very loud. Woke me up it did but I fell asleep again after only 5 minutes and had a great dream so I'm not too bothered.

We had a polite storm here in Cambridge. It was like a politician clearing their throat rather then a full on rumbling one.
