What was so impressive about Rooney's goal was how he cut across it, giving it not only the perfect power but vicious curl too. And unlike Gerrard, Edman and Safri, he didn't take a touch to control it - just positioned himself and hit it flawlessly.

That was sensational.. not quite as 'spontaneous' as Rooneys, but a better goal, in my opinion.. to get it in from that range, with that swerve was genius.
