Okay, first off... to keep this thread clean and easy to follow, PLEASE only post a reply if you have anything informative, constructive or otherwise useful to add.

Right...

Having just bought a new slimline PStwo with built-in network adapter, I may be tempted to try some online gaming, and I basically want to know if and how I can get it connected myself, without having to go through NTL with their 'Broadband + Console' package, as detailed on their website. (http://www.ntlworld.com/ps2.)

I have an NTL 750k broadband connection. Between the cable modem and the PC, I have the Actiontec wireless cable router, which provides access for a second PC through the same connection. My PC is hard-wired via Ethernet cable, and there is a spare USB connection on the router.

So... what would I need to do to get my PS2 online?

Info and advice from those 'in the know' greatly appreciated.

Me too, not played it since last Christmas but I'm hoping this revitalises it a little. It's included on the new Network Access disc.

Very simple.

You'll need a router with a Ethernet connections, or a wireless adapter for your PS2 (I'm not too sure about Wireless connections - wires are bettar (AR) ).

Then get a CAT5E Ethernet cable and connect 'em up.

I'm just waiting on the Network Access Disc from Sony. No point connecting everything until then!

Not sure, got mine when I bought the network adapter.

Is there no chance you could borrow one of someone? Seems odd that it would take that long, I'd contact them and try find out what the hold up is.

I heard anything up to 12 weeks. If you ask for a new copy you go straight to the back of the queue, so be warned.
