It's excellent for talking to my Dad, who works in Saudi Arabia for 3 Months at a time.

There's a little lag, what with his 'broadband' connection being pretty balls, but it works and saves loads on phone bills.

I use it to talk to someone 2.5 miles away.

Sounds like the perfect thing to get if you've got someone you know living far away and it'd cost a bomb to call them usually.

Plantronics Audio45 USB headset. Had mine for about 6 months now, love it.

Just downloaded after a friend decided there's only one real way to be playing WoW, which is talking Leeroy Jeeeeeenkins style.

He won't be back from holiday 'til Sunday though, so... Yeah. I need to buy a new headset too - I've been using either my PS2 Eye Toy (records Video and Audio) or my SOCOM headset (USB), which were obvious and cheap solutions for all my CounterStrike needs, but seeing as Skype seems pretty good I might invest in a better mic. Preferably with headset, I assume... Although either is fine, I'm more than happy listening with my speakers.

Any suggestions?

I didnt sign up for the free or paid for version, I have no doubt it is good, my gripe was I was charged for some one else using it on my credit card, if I had joined I would have opted for the free version.

Skype is excellent. I only use the free version to talk to my Ol' Pa in Saudi Arabia amongst other people.

I currently see no reason to pay for the advanced features just yet, but from what I've used, it's fantastic.
