Afternoon all,

Having just been shown an X850XT PE, I have decided I must have one, since my GeForce 4 ti4600 is starting to show it's age, especially at Ironforge Auction House :D

The only problem being that I currently have a Shuttle XPC, hence no room for a dual-slot Graphics card :|

So, those in the know, please could you point me in the direction of a decent, cheap case and mobo to support my current P4 2.8HT and 1Gb PC3200 RAM.

It doesn't have to be shiny with bells on, just something to house my current specs and the X850 as a Major Upgrade is on the Calendar for the end of the year or thereabouts.

Thanks

I'm not really sure on budget to be honest, gotta take the X850 into account too!

After quick thought, I could always pull of a semi-major upgrade now, then get a new mobo/processor at the time I originally planned to upgrade. I'm a little indecisive right now :D

Keep the suggestions coming and I'll see if the costs are acceptable. Thanks for the help, really appreciate it!

Hmm..what's yer budget..so you need a PSU as well? an X850 XT PE will take a lot of juice so I'll look at some others for ya.

Hmm, looks good, but no PSU is sure to get the cost mounting up :S

found a nice looking Antec TrueBlue PSU on the OcUK site, but then that'll take it to over £100 just for the case, no mobo.

I'd prefer the cheapest possible non-crap solution :D

I'd definately recommend this case mate: It's VERY light but a quality case with a nice blue light on the front.

Antec Super LANBOY Aluminum Super Mini Tower Case - No PSU (CA-012-AN)
Hear that? It's a LAN party calling you. So take your game on the road with Super LANBOY. Its durable anodized aluminum body packs 9 drive bays. Two low-speed 120mm fans, including one with mesmerizing blue illumination. And a windowed side panel that lets you show off your drool-inducing rig. So pick up a Super LANBOY. And travel easy.

- Durable anodized aluminum finish
- Clear side window
- Front ports: 2x audio, 2x USB
- One low-speed 120mm fan (rear)
- One low-speed 120mm blue LED fan (front)
- 9 Drive Bays:- External: 3 x 5.25", 2x 3.5", Internal: 4 x 3.5" - Individual drive trays with rubber grommets to absorb vibration
- Free case-carrying strap

Price: £49.95 (£58.69 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Also try Ebuyer as I think I got it from there a bit cheaper than OCUK :)

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Easy and free service!
I think it's fab that you provide an easy-to-follow service, and even better that it's free...!
