If you was adopted would you want to know? and would you want to find your real parents?

Just been talking to a friend tonight who is adopted, hense the topic.

Personally, I'd want to know, and I'd want to find my real parents out of curiosity. I don't think I'd be angry or anything and I'd still see my adoptive parents as my 'real' parents. However, if it actually came to it, I can't guarantee I'd deffinatly feel this way.

I'm pretty sure I'm not adopted, but I found out relatively recently that my Dad was a war baby, so I may just have a Grandfather alive in the US that I don't know about. It'd be nice to know who he was but I'm not sure that even my Dad knows, and I never knew either of my Grandparents on his side so it's not a massive loss anyway.

I was adopted. That, or it was the milkman. Either way I'm not fussed.

I'd rather not know.

Though, I am far too much like my parents anyway to even think about it.

True but people who were adopted apparently know deep down that things aren't quite right.

Anyway this thread reminded me of a great joke off TV:

(Big american cocasion(sp?) guy talking) "One day I turned to my father and said 'Dad, am I adopted?' and he said: 'yow haaah ping sooooo'.

Is that racist? Made me laugh anyway.

But you could be stable living a lie and believing you already knew that.

Yeah I'd want to know. You get stability knowing where you came from.
