If you was adopted would you want to know? and would you want to find your real parents?

Just been talking to a friend tonight who is adopted, hense the topic.

Personally, I'd want to know, and I'd want to find my real parents out of curiosity. I don't think I'd be angry or anything and I'd still see my adoptive parents as my 'real' parents. However, if it actually came to it, I can't guarantee I'd deffinatly feel this way.

I am half adopted. By that I mean I live with my biological mother and a step-father but my step-father wanted to adopt me (god knows why) but to do that it means my mom also had to adopt me (god knows why) which means by law I am 100% adopted despite living with one of my biological parents (god knows why).

I'd want to meet my real parents, just to have some idea of my genetic 'roots'. I don't know if I'd want a relationship with them, not sure how you'd avoid it if you met them through.

Maybe I'd have to manufacture 'chance' encounters with them or something. It could be like a screwed up American film. With Adam Sandler.

Not sure whether I'd want to know though. I think I would.

Truth be told, I don't know if I was adopted or not. My "parents" have always refrained from discussing the topic, especially at times when I say things like "I want to trace my family roots" and suchlike. It's a scary thought though, thinking that the people who brought you up, and have cherished you since, are not of the same blood.

It's a scary thought indeed. One day I might even go to the US and take samples to trace the origins. It will be a worthwhile quest.

I hope I was adopted and my real parents are actually cool people that don't read The Daily Mail or watch television.
