Just look at this!:

"Matsushita has revealed a new version of the Nintendo Gamecube, which was seen in prototype state for the first time at this year's E3 show in Los Angeles.

The console is slightly larger than the regular Gamecube casing and is silver in colour with a digital display on top. The unit will support the playback of DVDs, video-CDs and audio CDs, while still containing the Gamecube's core hardware technology to play games.

Fumio Otsubo, Matsushita's managing director said: "Our hybrid digital audio visual product will be superior to PlayStation2." As yet, neither a price or release date has been confirmed for the unit."

It won't let me display the picture but go to www.consoledomain.co.uk and it will be in the news section -it looks totally different to the normal GameCube!!!!

(If any of you can get the picture into this forum - that would be great!)

FMV movies are just plain cheating - its skiving off doing some work and showing what a console is capable of. Just compare the two TWINEs on Playstation and N64 - Playstation cheats by using clips from the film while the N64 actually copies them and use the N64's abilities to make them look stunnig! I think it beats the Playstation FMV's hands down!

Most of the psx games are just pooor games with flashy FMV movies.

Hopefully as the consoles are gettin more poweful the developers will make more games with the cool movies and great gamepley.

what frustrates me alot is the people who look at an FMV movie on a playstaion game and say "WOW, look at those graphics". and to be frank any and i mean any cd based console could do that be it Playstation or Gamecube (Go Gamecube, Go Gamecube...) and the fact of the matter is although FMV is a great thing to have i just hope that in the future games makers dont hide a rubbish game behind some flashy FMV scenes like Tommorow Never Dies on the Playstation.

yeah, definitly. The story can be much more easierly explained and the gamer can become more envolved and excited about the game. The movies get you more in touch with the game, and they also keep you playing and make you try that little bit harder to complete a level so you can see the next movie.

In a way, games are becoming more of a virtual movie world -
I think movies are very important in games as they give you detail of the plot and they show off the games capabilities such as graphics.

ah yes, but have you noticed how all the new games have got hours worth of cut-scene movies in them? It makes for a better game. Conker was really good with this.

In the words of the great Miyamoto himself - 'GameCube is a games console"

Games are not movies.
