Heavenly

As I followed her down the street, tears of sorrow and regret fell from my eyes. I saw her silky blonde hair and longed to feel it between my fingers again. All the remorse welled up inside my soul and I had to turn away, the pain in my heart was eternal and terribly unbearable.

She turned the corner and I struggled to keep up. Even though we were both fourteen everybody knew we had something special, I loved her with all my heart but I knew we could'nt be together because I was not the same. She started humming a tune I knew only too well. Our tune. A song I wrote and poured my heart and soul into. It brought a sad smile to my face.

As she crossed the road I noticed she had a gold bracelet on. I brought her that for her thirteenth birthday. Inscribed were the words, Rebbeca I will always love you. Thinking of it brought an invisible smile to my face .

She came to her house and opened it with her keys I went round the side and looked in at her through the window. She was greeted by her mother with a hug. I could see tears streaming down her beautiful face.
"Why mum?", she wept. "Why did he have to die I love him so much". And with that I faded into the mist and started on my path towards heaven.

May be clichéd but I didn't get it until the second to last line. Again a sweet little tale. I agree with our newest story master and will look out for more.

Bah. If every story had a twist, you'd spend half the story waiting for that plot device. I can name hundreds of good stories that don't have an unhappy ending.

Not saying the story wasn't good though, it was, just disagree on the constant need for unhappy endings...

...but sweet...

Again, slightly on the clichéd side. Why do you people have to be so morbid? ;-)
