I've noticed this recently. Very often I give up the excitement of going out in favour of the security I feel at the thought of staying home in my room by myself. I'm far from a social retard, I generally feel very comfortable around other people, but I just have recently been seeming to choose to stay in my own company at home rather than go out and mix with other people. It's getting stupid now, I need to deal with it before I start getting really bad and getting nervous about going out.

Any advice? Anyone ever felt similar?

Most people and events bore me. I can only kill time in a shallow way so much of the time - some people spend most of their lives doing it. 50 years spent down the pub talking crap? No thanks.

I like select media, games, books and sex.

I don't feel the need to bother with anything else, it doesn't interest me.

Oh yeah, does anyone remember Game On?

All I need now is a ginger flatmate and a surf board.

Heh. I remember being stuck out in the countryside (sort of).

Uni or driving will set you free. One day.

I've become a little bit of a recluse at the moment too.
The other 3 people from my flat all moved out in the last month or so, one split up with someone, one got a job, one decided to stop being a bum.
(That and I REEK*)
So now I live alone, which means I need to make the effort to go out in order to see anyone at all.

Uni runs one day a week at the moment (it's mostly individual study now), I play pool once a week, and work once a week (what a job!)

I find it easy to make excuses not to go out, I'm always a bit short of money (but could manage if I wanted to).
Plus outside is full of smack-heads and ash-holes.

It's too easy to stay inside (especially now I have my net connection). But only seeing other humans 3 days a week can't be healthy.

I think I need a sociable hobby. And new flatmates. And friends who live closer.

Pretty much the same as me. And theres feck all near me (country) so to have decent craic we'd need to go into the town, and that's a whole other problem.

This happens way to often to me as well.

On weekdays, there isn't really loads of time to meet people after school, due to schoolwork and alike, so I just play LIVE.

Then we meet up, and play games.

I suck.

That's not a problem I have, I'm no way addicted to this site. I just think, I could go out, or I could stay home with the comfort of my own room and my cds.

It almost ruined my life last year. I was on UK Chat 23 hours a day, and everyone hated me. Thanks to strong willpower, I now only go on about once a week for an hour.

I practically never go anywhere during the week, Saturday and Sunday are the only days I reguarly meet up with people but even then that doesn't guarantee going outside, it will sometimes lead to playing multi-player computer games.

I would try and get out of the pattern, best way would be just not to think about it and go. I've gotten quite bad with it recently to the point that it can take me hours to get out of the door.
