This weekend I'm meeting my girlfriend's friends internet boyfriend, it's also their first time meeting too, so it should be massively awkward. Apparently he's travelling from London so he must have high expectations.

I hope they don't get along just so it's fun to watch.

I know some of you've met people from the net before from the "where did you meet your other half" thread, but would you, on the first time meeting someone, let them live with you for three days?

Seems kinda cool, hope he's a knife-freak :-)

I thought the original post said 'your girlfriend's internet boyfriend'. It took me a couple of seconds to realise what it really says. I spent that time being extremely confused.

Anyway I know a girl from New York who went to stay at her internet boyfriends house in Ireland. Think it went well, but they split up and hated each other later in life. Haven't spoken to either in almost a year so not sure if they're back on speaking terms.

He offered to carry me upstairs once so I assume he's fairly strong.

Did I just say to much ... ?

I suppose the media tends to indoctrinate with horror-stories though. It is a valid way of meeting people, and not everyone is a deceptive cloaked weirdo. I guess I'll find out anyway.

I know, I'm selfishly hoping they do.

A load of us stayed at a mate's house while his parents were away when we were about 16/17. He invited an older couple that he knew from the 'net. They stayed in his parent's bed, which was quite odd. They even complained when we were having a lightsabre fight on the stairs at 3 in the morning, then didn't say goodbye later on in the day when they left.

They've split up now, apparently.

Never met anyone from here. Apart from the wife, but I met her first and then she came on here much later...

Met about 100 people from another site at various points though...
