Why have so many people gone to Rome to see the Popes dead body?
Surely some of them would have thought 6 months or more ago "Hmmmm, the pope is a bit ill, maybe I should make the journey now, so I can go to mass while he's still alive.".
But they didn't.
They waited til he snuffed it, and then decided to go.
Just seems a bit weird to me is all.

Saying goodbye to an alive person is probably a bit rude. That's the best I can think of.
