"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." —Matthew 7:7-8

wanna personal experience? If you go with some faith, be prepared for one.

Somewhere in West Yorkshire someone is laughing in their grave at all you people agonising over something they wrote over several drunken evenings

From then on..

I grilled him. I grilled him about death. destruction. illness. Sin. God existing... then Jesus

... At same time his answers though confusing and new made some sense and at same time... no sense...

So i continued to pray all time.

On my 17th birthday coincidentally my best friend had became christian the yr before. She knew I had questions and kinda knew God existed but was finding it hard to understand and know him.

So she took me to a christian retreat. I had a first service (in which was scary as I thought church was for bible bashing freaks) BUt i went cold during service nearly cried.

Then secretly she booked me in to see a listener. This is like a christian councilor..

I was scared pooless. I couldnt open up to anyone. I went to see a psychiatrist once which i lied for an hour to get out.

I prayed with caroline that if God was there and wanted me to open up i finally would. About mum and everything - everything id been keeping from everyone. She sat with me. me, who could say nothing to no one burst into tears and told her pretty much everything. I felt weird. I looked at her and she said something to me that i had never told her. Something she coudlnt possible have known. I realised then that moment that God had spoken through her - via the weirdest thing ever but he had. Then after realising this I realised he existed. He spoke to me through her. I was in shock and she knew it. I realised that through this though I wasnt a 'bad girl' i was in sin. I had rejected God from the day I was born. I was born into a non christian family, had no bible - had no teaching but prayed one day. Then i had come to point realising God existed from praying from a job. I relaised that I had lived my life without him. which he created. Everything i have he made. I realised this felt heavy with sin and realised what My boss said about God, How Jesus had taken my place for my sin. I asked for forgiveness as she prayed over me. She prayed i would be born again and that the holy spirit would come into my life as i breathed in.

As i breathed in (no sh*tting here) I went ice cold, feeling completely wacked out and from that day.. though i went down hill for a long time and still didnt live for God. I am living for him. He has blessed me in so many ways.

Though i had no plans to know him really, i wanted something. he gave me grace and opened my eyes

Quite alot.

My Mum for the last 6 years has been suffering with some unknown illness that doctors cannot work out. I saw some disgusting horrible things. lost trust in people and things, other than my boy friend at the time.

I was pretty depressed though covered it well. I distanced myself.

Baring in mind these things, i actually just finished my GCSEs and I needed a job. My mum and dad were on at me as they didnt want me to be a pathetic bum all my summer and wanted me to earn. And the idea of money for a car sounded good.

So that night, after wearing thin of nagging. I prayed for a job. I dont know why. I needed one so I thought well give big guy a try. Thinkng nothing of it my prayer was something like this...

'If you there.. which i dont know if you are. My parents are nagging me for a job and i need one. And a car. Id like a job that is cool and so i dont have to commute via two trains to chelmsford and take 1/2 wages. So a job.. amen'

So I wake up next morning thinking nothing of it as really, i didnt put my life on it it was a spur of moment thing. I walk downstairs and I have feeling 'ah go down road see alpha garden centre'. I wlak into garage and mum and dad say 'Claire - Go down alpha they might need ya and its only down road no commute.'

A little freaked out i went. The Garden centre needed strapping lads not tiny 5 foot ginger girls with 0 muscles.. so he pointed to the aquarium next door. In which i entered asked the guy and he straight away said yea sure.

Ok, so i got a job day after i prayed. Big deal. Maybe an answer to prayer maybe not...

Then 3 weeks down line i find how bad in business he is and how many staff he already has. That he doesnt need me... and that he is a 'born again christian'.

So, a little freaked out that the day after I prayed I landed a job with someone that didnt need me to work infact I was a hinderance.. that was a Christian and as he put it said 'he felt he just needed to take me on'

That was me 2 and a half years ago...

Now I know.

I asked if God was there than that he show me and I gave him a chance to see if he existed. I started my first prayer telling him that I was doing that exact thing and didnt know if he was there.

Solve argument - ask him for a personal experience. By joe he'll give you one

It can be very interesting, yes, but it eventually just turns into a screaming match of "I'm right and you're wrong!!!" on both sides.

I don't believe that the existence of God is impossible, but I've never personally experienced anything that's made me believe that he does exist.

So one day you look up into the sky and you see God (!!!) looking back at you. Your first thought is "That's pretty cool... Wonder how that got there..? Much more likely to have just appeared out of nowhere/created itself/been around eternally than to have been created by something else!"

That's not a very good comparison, really. And you can't prove that it has "seriously more chance" unless you can throw up some proper calculations.

So like I say, any "things have to be created" arguments defeat themselves, because they leave that horrible lurching question of "what created God, then?"

I don't know if God exists.
Neither do you or anyone else.
