I'm getting visions of 3D glasses all over again here, but Lucas is planning to, yes, you've guessed it, re-release his Star Wars films allllll over again, but this time put them in a new 3D format.
Admittedly I'd love to see a proper 3D film, but he's seriously, seriously killing his films. It's like taking the Mona Lisa and repainting all the colours again, or painting a hoodie over her and goth make up so she's more updated.
And no, I don't believe he's 'ruining my childhood' and stripping me of all that whatsit that people go on about.. I just think he's really pushing it. Star Wars was a great 70's science fiction trashy film. The sequels were excellent, Han Solo is a great character and the series has some wonderfully quoteable lines.
But God.. please... Lucas, do something different?
I heard on the radio also, that he's refering to Episode 3 as 'Titanic in space'.
I'm so afraid of growing up. Terrified that I'd end up like that.
Oh yes...
> I hope so. Then I can punch Jaa Jaa (sp?)
Exactly.
And hold Kid Anakin's stupid face in his stupid racer engine.
That's the only reason for having Episode I or II in 3D.
I wonder how many years it'll be until he updates his best efforts...

The terrible memories of "Jaws 3" still haunt me when I think of the combination of messing with classics and introducing 3D.
