Yesterday History's most successful video game manufacturer Nintendo have finally revealed the price of the Gamecube!

According to Nintendo.com they said they got a "overwhelmingly positive response" from all those lucky people who went to E3 More than 62,000 in fact! So what is it is it $150 as we all prayed for or $299 which we all feared?

$199.98 is the suggested retail price and for those of you who doesn't know what that means in our currency then it is probably £199!

Oh my giddy aunt the big N has now retailed their console 3 days (72 hours) befor the X-box and a remarkable $100 cheaper! I know who I'm putting my money on but with the promised Playstation 2 price reduction of 50 quid Nintendo will only be 50 quid cheaper! You could still get yourself a game with that but it isn't as big as we all thought.

The games industry is hotting up but instead of being Skeptical lets let Nintendo have their moment ot shine because this round has only just started.

Tony, how much in advance of release do you get info on products?

For example, the 'Cube, when will you get a list of launch titles, prices, possible packages etc? Or can SR put together any packs they want?

Nope - in the UK you have to add a think called TAX.

£199.99 or thereabouts.

Theres a good shot it will be £150 at that...

According to my handy Expedia.com currency converter...

150.00 British pounds sterling = 214.44 US dollars

Which given that the yanks are getting it for $199.99 and the Japanese are getting it for the equivelent if $204..

So £150.00 is such an outlandish expectation after all??

well, thats cool then. I dont really mind as long as it is less than 200 squid. anything more well me a bonus. I'm just gonna expect it to be £200 so i wont be dissapointed. Consoles are usually a round number when they first come out arnt they?
