I'm getting me a mid-high end laptop, mainly meant for gaming just now but at least a bit portable.

Been researching quite a bit and I actually know some stuff.
The top end Ati X800 and GeForce 6800 are probably to far out my price range, was going to wait till the x700 became more prominent but I can't be bothered.

So I'm thinking of going for this, with upgrading to 1GB RAM.

So, yeah... views please.

Huh? Acer, where did that come from? Yes I do work at Evesham as a sales guy, graduated Uni with a computing degree and thought I would go sell computers :D. Nice job as its right round the corner from where I live and all the other guys are decent so its a nice friendly working environment.

Yeah, read up on it today. So you're a sales guy eh? Nah I quite like the look of that one but still researching into them.

For gaming the highest CPU will be best. A 2.0Ghz Pentium M would be around a 3Ghz P4 if not slightly better. To be honest on our Evesham range the middle spec would be minimum for games as its a 1.6Ghz Pentimum M. Having it in our showroom we havent had much problems running games, Colin McCrae 4 is usually on and that runs pretty nice. Had 3D Mark 03 running ok on it aswell.

I'm quite fancying that Evesham one.

What do you think is the basis processor speed I want?
If I get a 1.3Ghz I save a lot and if I have excess isn't it a waste of money? I'd much rather have more RAM and better graphics card.

Look at http://www.evesham.com/PCs/Info.asp?e=A145B649-3E28-4438-A857-B02C8AAD8FAF Looks the same as the Rock laptop but slightly lighter and around the same price.

I have a Pentium M with the same graphics chip as below.

Super quiet and handles most games a treat.

Dont be fooled the Pentium M is a great chip.
