I'm getting me a mid-high end laptop, mainly meant for gaming just now but at least a bit portable.
Been researching quite a bit and I actually know some stuff.
The top end Ati X800 and GeForce 6800 are probably to far out my price range, was going to wait till the x700 became more prominent but I can't be bothered.
So I'm thinking of going for this, with upgrading to 1GB RAM.
So, yeah... views please.

It is a excellent spec for the price.
However, I've read a few people have had defects with flickering monitors.
I'm thinking of waiting for a bit, I really want an x700. Need to wait about 2 weeks for wages anyway.

Had my eye on this baby for a while... should be in possesion of the next model down by the end of the month...
Although I did email Rockdirect a couple of weeks ago with regard to slim laptops with X700 or X800 graphics - Apparently they will be introducing a range "in the near future" I might wait to see what they have to offer...

I was playing a flash game earlier, the fan went onto full power just from playing it! I got rather annoyed, closed the game, hit the laptop and stormed out of the room for 30 mins to allow it to cool down!

The graphics card is monged, the fan is loud, the screen is broken, although it's been fine recently. I can move it and nothing happens... What else is there? Um, it's heavy. And noisy. Did I mention it's noisy?!
I'm surpised Iridium are still selling laptops with P4 processors seeing how noisy they are. Unless they've improved the fans, in which case I want one of them!
My housemate got a new Dell laptop too, silent as anything and with wireless Internet too. He tested the new NTL speed yesterday by downloading porn while his PC was on the kitchen table!
