Any way I can install it manually? There's no cd or anything, just the actual hardware.
Help, please?
Double click it.
Make sure the "Rec" bar on the right is set to microphone. Click the picture with the yellow arrow above it, and choose, well, microphone.
Any better?

Duh.
Paradox started a thread without bringing his girlfriend and their rampant sex into it.
Strange.
I think the line-in was jacked up too though. I'll check though.
I tried it in the family computer - boosh, plug and play, all worked perfect.
I noticed that the volume control which monitors all the sound input/output had the Creative software name in the bottom left, whereas the family puter had Nvida.
Cleverly I uninstalled the creative software with the hope that the Nvida stuff would be put in place. I was wrong.
I uninstalled all of my creative stuff - including the speakers. Boosh - no sound.
Rifling through the drawer I discovered I no longer had the disk so couldn't reinstall.
I finally, after about 30 mins of noodle-scratching decided a system restore was the way forward. Luckily it worked.
So 2 hours of wire-pulling and mindless tampering and my £2.65 eBay microphone still isn't installed.
Twattery.
