Sorry if it's already been done.
So, let's see a pic of your desktop.
Here's what mine looked like earlier today.

But after using a few programs to change the theme, put in a new background and stuff.
Here's what it looks like now..

Maya is EXTREMELY powerful and has a better renderer than max.
however, it's a very daunting program to use and takes some time to get to grips with. MAX is about as user-friendly as high-end 3d apps get. the student version of MAX 7 is only about £90, which is a bargain for an 18 month licence of a full program.
the Spaced "zombie shot", mario, [A$$] and mcvities desktops were the best :)

Mine is compromised of Kol's OSX Tiger applied through StyleXP with the icons from Foood's iCandy Junior, which gives a fairly good closeness to OSX Tiger.
All of Kol's work can be found at Studio28.com (might be studiotewntyeight.com)

I use the OSX Tiger skin - and I may just also have the iCandy icons. Not sure though.
I'll post my desktop when I get home (It's a sadass temp thing, but you can see it anyway)
You need a beefy machine to run them.
I'm a clean freak, I like to have minimal amounts of programs loading up at startup etc
EDIT - well, minimal resources :)

You sound exactly like me when I was using Windows.

Latest version contains a check box > Do not use system resources
As soon as I go to SP2, it will be mine! [evil laughter optional]
