Don't know if this has been done before, but I couldn't find anything like/about it on the first page.
Sorry if it's already been done.

So, let's see a pic of your desktop.

Here's what mine looked like earlier today.

But after using a few programs to change the theme, put in a new background and stuff.

Here's what it looks like now..

StyleXP is quite a hungry system, but you can choose to run it as theme only, meaning the program itself uses no resources at all.

EDIT - well, minimal resources :)

One thing that I hate about thise "themers" for Windows (e.g. StyleXP etc) is the fact that they consume so much memory.

You need a beefy machine to run them.

I'm a clean freak, I like to have minimal amounts of programs loading up at startup etc

I use the OSX Tiger skin - and I may just also have the iCandy icons. Not sure though.

I'll post my desktop when I get home (It's a sadass temp thing, but you can see it anyway)

Mine is compromised of Kol's OSX Tiger applied through StyleXP with the icons from Foood's iCandy Junior, which gives a fairly good closeness to OSX Tiger.

All of Kol's work can be found at Studio28.com (might be studiotewntyeight.com)

I tried a whole load of those skinning and make-your-PC-look-like-a-Mac programs but couldn't get on with any of them, none of them would integrate seamlessly with the Explorer shell. I've now given up trying to customise my desktop, a bitter and empty shell of a man. I even run Winamp in it's default theme :<

Maya is EXTREMELY powerful and has a better renderer than max.
however, it's a very daunting program to use and takes some time to get to grips with. MAX is about as user-friendly as high-end 3d apps get. the student version of MAX 7 is only about £90, which is a bargain for an 18 month licence of a full program.

the Spaced "zombie shot", mario, [A$$] and mcvities desktops were the best :)

have you done any work in this? i'd be interested in seeing it as had not heard of this program before.

I got modo the other day, was used for the car that dances in that advert. haven't had a chance to give it a try yet.

3d max: i use this for all of my 3d work really

maya: haven't used it but a very good program

zbrush:i used this for the face picture on my website, it's for fine modelling and creating 2d images with 3d elements. It's more of an art program as you mold things like clay to make the shape you want. I use a IR glove to do the modeling for this sometimes too look cool in a geeky way.
