Opinions of this album, anyone?

As expected, I don't think it's as good as the first album. I'm not saying it's a bad album (it's better than most things out there) it's just Deloused was such a difficult CD to better.

If your planning to buy Frances then don't expect it to be the same as Deloused. They've made that album already, there's no point in doing it again. Instead it's a much darker, more sinister album with all the things you love from The Mars Volta. There's some truly fantastic songs and some catchy Spanish lyrics mixed in to spice things up a bit more.

The more I listed to it, the more I love it (as with Deloused).

Wow mars volta were fantastical, (a word i normally 'reserve' for myself) got a few pics and a video on a camera.

hey where really good and i hope you enjoy it tomorrow as much as i did.

I will post the pics in the next few days, they are on a staffies camera, will have to get him to send them to me.

EDIT: Was just on the bus in hull going home after travelling back from the concert, and this quite pretty girl walks up to me and said 'you were at that concert last night wern't you'. (I was surprised at this, there were alot of people there and for her to have walked past me at some point and seen me and remembered me, very strange)

we talked for about 20 mins and we're going out for a drink next week.

I love mars volta :D

Oh and i have a nice new mars volta hoodie and got duffgirl a poster as she missed it.

what a great weekend.

That's what I've heard - the studio people made them split it all up so the CD seemed longer + counted as a LP. Although they could have just put the parts of Cygnus or Miranda on individual tracks to get the same effect.

Meh.

And I also heard (good things, these here ears) that yus, Frances in 13 Seconds, is getting released on its own.

I think they split up the last track because 5 tracks counts as an EP.

Or something.

Either way, they confuse me.

Frances the Mute in 13 seconds isn't actually on the cd, even though they printed the lyrics. Thats the Mars Volta for ya. Casandra Gemini (i think thats right) is the last 8 tracks on the cd, as if you check the lyrics they start on track 5 and end on track 11. track 12 is sacophigi (spelling?) repeated.

Great cd but the track listing confuses me no end.
