Okay last night, don't know what happened but at 1 something Freeola broke for me and I'm not able to see any images on Freeola. Though I can still use it. Also visiting sites like amazon.co.uk and digitalspy.co.uk the sites either don't work or take me to a normal looking site, but is actually adult orientated. I'm using FF, but I tried IE and I get a similiar result.

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope =(

Does anyone know another forum I might be able to ask about this? I really need to get it fixed before I can go back to working on my site. I tried searching for a solution on Yahoo but I cant find anything on the problem.

EDIT: Okay I found a few entries on a couple of forums.

Well his computer seems clean too. This sucks, why isnt any of this software picking it up?

Anyone know a site where I can find the IP numbers of the affected sites? Looks like it got google.co.uk today too.

Okay I thought I was rid of the problem, but it seems to have moved on, allowing Amazon but not Digitalspy and now PM won't work :S

Maybe I'll clean my brothers computer too.

Cheers Bob, didn't get a chance to try it though :) It's all working now (took me awhile to notice). Must have been when I installed that Norton software my brother got with his computer. Though it only spotted two things, one was high so I guess that must have been it.

For weird redirection, look under your Windows\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS
I may have drivers and etc the wrong way around, but it's in there somewhere.

Open it with notepad and see if it's referencing any sites in there that you're having problems with.

It's a domain name resolution file. If you define www.amazon.co.uk as having the IP 12.30.93.21 then it'll go straight to that IP instead of asking your ISP's servers what its IP is.

I don't know why Freeola images would fail though.

Windows Defender, Spybot Search and Destroy, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, still doing some more checks. Is it possible that my brothers new computer is to blame? He umm goes to the wrong sites and isnt careful about what he downloads. He destroyed my older brothers computer several times, one time Ad-Aware found over 700 offending items. It crashed every time it attempted to remove them.

Well, if certain well known domains are directing you to other sites it suggests your computer is infected with spyware/virus etc..

I'm assume you're tried spyware removers already...which ones did you use?
