Cube needs a few more big exclusives if Nintendo plan on keeping it going till the next console, Mario 128 would be a massive bonus.
I'm just saying, it's not too much of a biggie if it ain't.

That would be frowned upon by the media and most gamers.
Launching the 'Revolution' with a Gamecube game doesn't exactly display much evidence of a revolution does it?
Other reasons it should be held as a Revolution launch title:
- Way better graphics
- Will make use of the 'plug console direct into brain' control system it will probably use
- Will have had 4-5 years of development time to make it uber
- Could be of Half-Life proportions
- Will ensure massive sales of new console

Nintendo haven't confirmed this.
And I disagree Edgy. "Here's our brand new system! Launching with a game for our previous one!" Thats pisspoor. A new system needs a big launch title that shows off to the public exactly what the system can do that the last one can't. Where's the incentive to buy the Revolution if the game can be played just as well on the Cube which by then will be even cheaper?
"SHIGSY DISAPPOINTS REVOLUTION FANS!" - Miyamoto disappoints Nintendo fans by releasing Mario 128 on the GameCube despite being so close to the launch of Revolution...
He's damned both ways.

Yep, quite a few days ago.
It's a very stupid decision. Why put what will no doubt be a very good game on a console that (by the time Mario 128 is launched) will be in the last stages of it's product cycle when you can hold it back and launch the N5 with it?
Considering how long 128 has been in development, Nintendo won't be able to make another AAA Mario game for the Revolution's launch.
Therefore, Bring out Mario 128 shortly before Revolution is out and you've got a huge new game for Revolution's launch...
Make a special bundle pack of a launch title and Mario 128 (to reiterate the backwards compatability) and you've got a great marketing idea!
