Musical geniuses and pioneers who deserve to live on into eternity?

OR

A slightly better than average band who really should have given it up by now?

Exactly.

I think u2's "All that you can't leave behind" was their best, closely followed by "The Joshua Tree". I hated them when they went all disco. ("Zooropa" and "Pop" being 2 prime examples). I think they could have meade HTDAAB a whole lot better.

That was just unbelievable, I'd rather spend the money on a day ticket to Reading or any other festival at that matter.

And have money for the ever so cheap and healthy festival food.

I don't mind U2, a few tracks can be located on my I-pod.

I do like "one" I must confess, a bit of a classic that one.

They're boring. Boring lyrics. Boring music.

Bono, stay out of politics. And take Bob Geldoff with you !

They get unfairly criticised in my opinion. Although their new album is fairly cack.

The new album gets better the more times you listen to it - most of the tracks are actually fairly solid, with the exception of A Man and a Woman and Crumbs from Your Table, which are rubbish.

That Maddox is a silly fool.

Used to be great, getting a bit commercial, still not as blatant as Bon Jovi or as bad.
U2 1980-2002 = Band
U2 2002-2005 = Brand

That's a bit harsh.

Some of the tracks are really quite nice after a few listens.
