Remember a while back we offered an EXTRA GAMEADAY prize for promotional suggestions. Anyone who suggested an idea which we actually use within three months wins a prize.

Monkey_with_Attitude has already been given one prize for his suggestion of community spirit in e-mails.

There are now three further prizes in this competition.

1. Monkey_with_Attitude
E-mail a friend links in discussions etc.

2. Fantasy Meister
Gameaday leaflets or stickers on products we sell, especially in the shops.

3. Monkey_with_Attitude
Prompt people to bookmark or place our sites on home pages.

By the way - It's no good searching for the promotional thread. We deleted it so that our competitors can't get their sweaty mits on it.

There may of course still be other winners to this as every suggestion which is used within three months will win a prize.

I think that when people first come to the site, they think that it is just a normal gaming site. We know it’s not. It has some great potential, and one of the big reasons why people love this site so much is because we are given the opportunity to win GAD every day.

I think SR should make this more noticeable, so people will know think of this site as “a normal gaming site” but “a really generous site that offers games, and DVD films to people every day”.

If you wanted to really boost promotianl status, the obvious thing to do would be to put ads on the tele, but thats expensive, you could do radio ads. Link your self on othere sites that are popular. You could offer a prize just for regiersting then people would definatley enter just for that. You could vamp up the site and process iot on most searh engines get in touch with isps and ask them to put your link in their service to get a lot mroe people interested. post ads in game shops.

Do anything along those lines, you'll get noticed.

Probably not original ideas - maybe someone has suggested them, but I haven't read all the previous posts.

What about having on-line retro game competitions. Lots of people (I know quite a few) search for old arcade games (e.g. Spy Hunter, Arkanoid, Kung Fu Master etc). If links were accessible through search engines, people could play the games, but only SR members could enter the competitions (e.g. high score in Arkanoid being June's comp, Spy Hunter in July etc etc). This could attract more members to see what else SR has to offer.

Not being much of an expert in these matters, I don't know how easy this would be to set up (if at all).

Another simple possibility, although printing costs would need to be considered, is placing stocks of SR magazines in popular retail outlets such as EB, Game etc. I don't know how costs would balance against advertising in magazines, but if it was the SR specific mag then people will read it, rather than flick through other magazine ads. Naturally, some would refuse to stock it (competition and all that), but it could go down a storm in shops such as WHSmith.

You didn't get a free game because it wasn't used

Joe's bargain flights give out free bubble gum with ever flight, so don't compare the two!

It'd be funny. Team up with chat rooms - loads of people there! Also, you should do a deal with popular online gaming sites, like the slammer have done with Planetarion, but no one trusts the slammer (Not after what Ant told me) and so you'd get people, interested in games, playing the games, and seeing this, incentive to win prizes, we get flooded with new members - just like you want, you make more money, clans start, competitions begin and...no it could be a really good idea - somewhere like 9to5cafe.com or freearcade.com - do deals with them - links I tells ya!
