The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Monkey_with_Attitude has already been given one prize for his suggestion of community spirit in e-mails.
There are now three further prizes in this competition.
1. Monkey_with_Attitude
E-mail a friend links in discussions etc.
2. Fantasy Meister
Gameaday leaflets or stickers on products we sell, especially in the shops.
3. Monkey_with_Attitude
Prompt people to bookmark or place our sites on home pages.
By the way - It's no good searching for the promotional thread. We deleted it so that our competitors can't get their sweaty mits on it.
There may of course still be other winners to this as every suggestion which is used within three months will win a prize.
Other times it could be a charity.
Wasn't saying nobody should do it, just not me.
I can't lay down the law for everyone, just speak for myself.
I do find it appalling that people walk around with all manner of logos on them, walking billboards with fashion names, company logos...
But that's just me

Sorry mate but this is an absurd idea.
This is why I refuse to buy logo clothes:
I am not a space for rent.
I am not a billboard
I like SR, but would no more walk around advertising the company anymore than I parade around with other company logos emblazoned on me.
No offence to SR here, I've been loyal for over a decade now but would find the idea of being given t-shirts to wear in order to promote a company more than a little brainwashing.
Horrible idea.
Then some more suggestions are needed:
Run competitions in partnership with grocery products. I know it sounds odd at first, but think how many children see packets fo Birds Eye fishfingers or those dinosaur shapes and tins of beans. All kids look for free stuff or interesting competitions in supermarkets and it would mean a countrywide advertisment.
Give certain loyal posters a SR T-shirt to wear, but one with the Gameaday logo on and a clearly marked web address underneath. Also make it so that they are in different parts of the country for maximum reach. I'm sure many people here would gladly go around their local shopping centres with a Gameaday t-shirt on in the summer and perhaps even pop into local games shops and cough a little to attract attention!
This is one I wrote quite a while ago: In accordance with local radio, run competitions to win games or even a console. Another website that sells music is currently sponsoring competitions and the music charts on our local radio station at the moment and they are doing great business from it. Perhaps you could use several radio stations around the country, one every two weeks or so.
For DVD promotions, a lot of companies are starting to become the suppliers to the DVD review magazines, getting their name and website mentioned at the top of every review. It's slightly subliminal when you see the web address at the top of every page!
EG when you click uk disscussions.com you could type in what topic you want to search for any any forum EG FOG THE WORLDS LONGEST THREAD and then it would take you straight to it.
You could also promt users to rate a game.
It would be a good idea. There would also be a higher chance of making more than the oringinal selling price.
> because hes a staff member of special reserve DUH
