Surely there's a reason why most women enter their menopause at 50ish, yes?

A pregnant woman over thirtys fetus is considered at risk of developing birth defects. A couple I know have just been told that their unborn child has downs syndrome, and in addition is severly malformed. She's 32. She's going to have to have an enforced labor, and give birth to a baby thats going to live for a few minutes.
Needless to say, they're heartbroken.
