Right, must be quick.

Just ordered a new S-ATA drive (200GB 7200.7 NCQ Barracuda) to expand upong the measly 40GB IDE I have now. It's got some pretty important files, plus an installation of Windows XP SP2.

Now, how should I set up the S-ATA, and are there different ways?

I want to keep my 40GB, btw.

There'll be a 2 slots for normal SATA and 2 slots for a SATA Raid Array. Look in the motherboard manual to make sure you get the right ones.

Umm...

Teh mobo (Abit IC7-G) has like... 4 SATA slots, so I'm guessing the controllers / drivers would be on the install disk, correct?

Assuming you have a SATA controller and it's drivers are installed correctly, I believe all you need to do is plug it in and it should appear in disk manager (right-click->Manage on My Computer, then select Disk Management).
