OK, last year we had Razorlight, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand...

This year however, what are we gonna get?

I know Bloc Party are gonna probably break properly, they've been around for quite a while but they seem to have finally started to get good exposure.

It was also in November/December 2003 that I heard Keane for the first time and they went on to have one of the best selling albums of the year. The Bravery have caught my ears this time. Unconditional was a great little tune, the new one is good too. I can see them being pretty big.

Kaiser Chiefs released a great song too, their new one is a bit poo but I suppose it will grow on me. I wasn't sure of Franz Ferdinand at first but some of their songs were pretty good after listening to them enough. They'll probably be around somewhere.

Idlewild are also releasing another album, woooooo! I loved their last one and the first song off of their new album sounds pretty good, although it does remind me of Avril Lavigne and 'Nobody's Home!'

What else have I missed?

Oh, Foo Fighters and Coldplay have got new albums. Coldplay will get lots of people depressed while the Foo Fighters will either have a great or crap album, there won't be an 'inbetween' rating!

Maximo Park are my tips for the year, yuss.

I saw Maximo Park on a TV program about when they went to Russia.

I've heard a couple of Mars Volta songs, and they were okay, didn't really grab me. But I wouldn't like it if someone decided Dredg weren't that good on the basis of hearing a couple of songs rather than albums in their entirety, so I'll suspend judgement.

Dredg aren't really abstract though, each of their albums has a concept.

I was wondering when they were around again.

Hmm.

But MV will beat them. Sorry Blank, but in terms of abstract quality, Deredg are good, MV are just sublime.

But still, I will get it.

New Dredg album in April will be the best this year I'm sure.

I was rather impressed with the new Sum 41 album. No filler really.

First three Foo albums were very good, One by One was alright. I can't see the new one being crap. Double album and all, it could end up with a lot of filler, but no doubt will turn out a better album that most rock around. Could easily end up in between.

Bullet For My Valentine are tipped to be big this year with their first full album due about spring.

I'm expecting Hollywood Ending to move a little more towards the mainstream.

RSJ - a York Band I know personally have just got signed and had a video played on Scuzz so somefully more from them.

My Chemical Romance are due more publicity too, however they're biggish already.
