Head on over to apple.com (fairly slow at the moment) to see the new Mac and iPod combo. 2005 sees Apple retailing it's products with no screen. Yep, both the iPod shuffle and Mac Mini come with no screen (and in the Mac Mini's case, no keyboard and mouse also). Of course, you'll need to buy a screen, mouse and keyboard, but a £399 Mac? Yes please.

iPod shuffle is... different, it's really REALLY small, and comes in two sizes (both less than £100), the larger being 1GB (240 songs). It looks cool, and will allow many more people to hop on the iPod bandwagon.

"Think Different" definitely plays a key role here, then.

The only real draw i can see is the ultra portability. The advantages of carrying around what is essentially a desktop computer escape me though.

12hrs, 20+ with a battery pack add-on (which is fairly small- 2 AAA batt's).

As for the iPod shuffle - I'm assuming the battery life will be much better this time, what with no screen and all?

I can't shake off the image of Apple products of useless gimmicks. Looks very nice though, and I think this sums it up:
