iPod shuffle is... different, it's really REALLY small, and comes in two sizes (both less than £100), the larger being 1GB (240 songs). It looks cool, and will allow many more people to hop on the iPod bandwagon.
"Think Different" definitely plays a key role here, then.

Yes, I fully understand that you can get a perfectly apt PC, but the thing with the Mac/Apple machines is (not trying to sound like some zealot) is the fact that they come with a little something called Mac OSX, meaning you are pretty much free from
1) Viruses
2) Spyware
3) Windows
4) "Do you want to send error report to Microsoft"
5) "Windows has reported an Error, I won't tell you what it is however because we at Microsoft think you are a tard"
etc...
You get the idea.
Some people loathe the mac, I personally wouldn't mind one.

Oh my God.
Apple are really taking the p*ss now. The ONLY reason that people will buy those things is because of the name. It's pointless, there's no benefit to them at all!
You can get better ones, WITH SCREENS AND THE ABILITY TO SELECT SONGS for less!
Doesn't matter though, they're "cool" to own... *sigh*

Now look at the specs. Add a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and you can get a more powerful PC, which are more flexible. Sure it looks nice, but are you going to have it in the middle of your floor? Are you going to have neighbours round to see it? If I ever went to anyone's house just to look at their new iSomething, I'd burn the house and the occupants. And their Robosapien, because they've probably got one.

But it has a 'revolutionary' shuffle feature that plays songs in a random order!
AMAZING!!!!!
I already ordered 20!
I want one.
Now.
(the iPod shuffle? What kind of crap idea is that? I'd rather go for a normal iPod and choose the tracks I wish to play)
Soup that up and you've got a machine capable of running useful software.

This is going to be an even bigger waste of money than an iPod mini! No screen!?!
There's loads of flash based MP3 players on the market already, I can't see this being as good as half of them. They're just using their name to cash in on it.
