I take mine for about 15 minutes everyday (most days...okay, I sometimes forget). Do you think thats long enough or do I need to take him for longer walks?

Hes a Jack Russell and hes very small for his age but very playful, I just need to know whether my dog needs longer walks.

Cheers.

You need to invest in a treadmill. Then you can walk him all day long, to his heart's content.

I don't own a retarded inbred poop machine. I spend 0 minutes and 0 hours walking the retarded inbred poop machine that I don't own.

My dog gets at least an hour and a half a day, usually more.

Though I don't have a back garden so I tend to take her out at least 3 times a day to relieve herself.

About 30 minutes a day - sometimes she doesn't do any running, so isn't very tired, but most of the time you can get her to chase some stuff and she gets enough exercise.

That's just around the corner - every few days she goes up to the castle and will go mental chasing all the pigeons from their hiding places, and that'll completely tire her out.

Then most weekends she'll get a very long walk (a few hours) out in the wood or something.

You should take him for about 30 minutes 15 walking then if you have a little field let him run round there for 10 minutes. If you don't have a field just walk your dog for 20 minutes thats how long you really need to walk him for!

He should have at least 2 walks a day even if you just walk him for 10 mins in the morning and 30 mins after school. He'll also get more exercise if he meets and plays with another dog while you are out while they chase each other around.

Saying that if they only have one walk a day it is what they get used to. The more often you walk him the more times he'll rest up and not be so excited around the house.

I have a German Shepherd who plays with a tiny, tiny dog. It tires him out and I've heard from the other owner that her dog just crashes when he gets home.

My dad doesn't like the dog. He never wanted to get a dog and it was only me who did so I ended up paying for the dog meaning I do all the walks etc etc which seems fair to me.

Sorry, I've not really read the previous posts.

Does no-one else in your house walk your dog? We have two little cairns, both surprisingly vicious, and they get walked three-four times a day (two of those are by my dad).

I've just given him a malteser so that should calm him down for a couple of hours.

We have a cross alsastion who is about 3 years old.

One of the parents give her a walk before going to work for 15 minutes.
If my dad goes to the shops or anywhere she gets another 20 minute walk.
When my dad is at work (he works 4 months at a time), my little brother lets her outside on the front for 10 mins at dinner.
She gets a 30 minute run at about 4:15 to 4:45.
She gets her last walk at 9-9:30 for 15mins.

Don't worry about him always getting excited as my dog gets excited every time she goes out.
