A year and a half ago my parents got me a Dell Dimension 2400, mainly as it was quite good value for what I wanted it for. (Internet, writing essays and storing music/pictures).
However, I kind of want to play new games on it now but this system isn't that great for it... so I'm going to upgrade it as best I can. I probably should just use the money to buy a mac or something but my parents would go mental, probably.
Here it is here http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Dell_Dimension_2400_Cel_2_20GHz_128MB_40GB
I have only have one slot for memory, so I'm thinking of getting a stick of 512 RAM, plus I need a really good graphics card.
Erm, so please help tell me what I need and any suggestions. Plus, do I need a new motherboard?
Get it from http://www.cpuid.com
Oh and, let the checksum show so that we can see it isn't a fake screeny. From my reckoning that makes it approx the 9th fastest Athlon XP ever known.

He means take a screenshot that shows the operating frequency of your CPU.

Can we even produce absolute zero!? And just coz my chip is fast, dont mean it will change the look of it...lol.
No, wouldn't work at 4.8 GHz. There are reasons why no Athlon XP could go above 3.7 GHz I think it is, even at absolute zero.
> Cool, he must stupendously good. Any chance of a screenshot?
Doubt it lol. :)
Whats 24 * 200....er....4.8GIG!!! to keep that stable you'd need like liquid nitrogen! or dry ice....
perhaps if i store my computer in a super freezer...lol.

Depends on your motherboard. Most recent ones such as the Abit NF7 and DFI Lanparty for instance unlock all AMD processors up until the superlocked ones by just ignoring the multiplier settings from the L3 bridge pin-outs. Also, motherboards like them can go up to the maximum physical multiplier of 24, because they operate over all FIVE lines of the multiplier, whereas traditionally motherboards only recognise the first four.
