I haven't really heard anything by Radiohead, despite them having been recommended to me countless times.

Do they have a defining album, something I could buy to see whether or not I like them? If not, tell me what you think their best is.

Thanks.

The thing about Radiohead is that their songs and albums post The Bends grow on you, much more than any other bands I've ever heard. To illustrate this point, I've bought three copies of OK Computer in my time - the first one I bought when it was released, then sold to a friend because I hated it. I got a copy for my sister as a present, then finally I had to rebuy a copy for myself when I fell in love with Lucky, The Tourist, Exit Music and the like. It took a full four years for Paranoid Android to bite, during a drunken sing-a-long one Christmas Eve. It was not until mid-2004 that I began to like and love Climbing Up the Walls, after six years of listening to it. The same goes for their later albums - I didn't like Kid A, Amnesiac or Hail to the Thief much at first, but after repeated listenings gems such as How To Disappear Completely, In Limbo, Life in a Glasshouse, We Suck Young Blood and a Wolf at the Door made themselves known. I'm still listening, still digging.

PS Right now I'm watching "Meeting People is Easy" - if you can get hold of this video about Radiohead immediately post OK Computer, it's well worth it, as the live performances in it are stunning and it gives you a great insight into the band's mindset.

That's what I thought. The Bends took a while, but now I like it.

Some of you seem to like them a little too much though.

Cousin's a friend of Thom Yorke. He lives in Oxford and all. Just thought I'd drop a link.

Well, I've revised my opinion.

Electioneering is better than I thought. But I still say it's in the wrong place.

OK Computer is my personal favourite.

Have to say though, I prefer Counting Crows.

And at the moment, John Mayer.

Listened to it three times now - really liking it much more. On a technical level, it's really very impressive.

The last track has a little bit of a Pink Floyd feel to it.

It's good stuff.

It'll get better after more listens, it's got that progressive feel to it.

Got it this morning, listening through now.

First listen hasn't blown me away, but it's good.
