I'm considering selling my laptop as it doesn't want to play games anymore...

It plays 'slower' games like Black and White but for FPS it's just plain crap!

I've gotta try it out with Quake saying that, see if that still has a crap outcome like Halo.

Anyway, I'm not selling it on eBay due to the hassle of doing so (plus I wanna agree a price beforehand so I can get the new PC before selling this.)

So what would people pay for laptop with these specs? It looks as if it would be worth around ฃ1000 if bought new so is ฃ600 too low or too high?

• Mobile Intelฎ Pentiumฎ 4 2.6GHz Processor
• 512MB DDR RAM
• 60Gb Ultra DMA-100 Hard Drive

Sod that then, ฃ30 just to sell it!

I'll find someone who'll want it. I've already got a nice looking PC planned that will cost me ฃ600. Sooooo much better than this too!

There isn't much point making comparisons to a different laptop with a different brand. I can buy a better spec-ed laptop than yours for less than you want to sell at it now but of course its a different brand.
Your guide price should be how much your laptop retails for now and depending on age/condition you should look at around 40-70 percent of that I think.

You're probably looking at 25-30 pounds in total.

Might be worth selling it on eBay...

Hmmmm.

How much would it cost though to sell this, with listing fees and such?

Me - Intel Pentium 4 2667
CPU Score - 4445
Memory Score - 5935
Disk Score - 16

Average - Intel Pentium 4 2667
CPU Score - 4401
Memory Score - 4960
Disk Score - 15

OK, disk score is meant to be low so that's no worry. I've just played Halo too without installing any patches and although there were a few slightly jumpy bits there was nothing as bad as what I get when playing online.

I still wanna sell this though.

Then again 14 might be reasonable for your HD, it would help if you can find out its supposed speed (it'll be 4200rpm or 5400rpm).

Also you might try HD Tach for benchmarking your HD. If theres a problem you'll probably find the graph it plots for you is very erratic.
HD Tach available here: http://www.simplisoftware.com/Public/index.php?request=HdTach

As for why Quake might be fine when Halo isn't, its just a matter of newer games stressing your system more, its guaranteed that Halo is loading textures/sounds etc. from your HD all the time, its a fair bet that Quake isn't doing that so much.

Yeah, your HDD might be pooped.
Would probably explain why the problem started suddenly and why reinstalling Windows didn't fix anything.

(or at least I think I remember you doing this from the other thread)

I'll run it again, I think I messed the numbers up!

My old 486 would probably get more than 14!

And it doesn't jump while playing Quake. So it might be something to do with Halo. It might have been caused by an update to the game.

Let's see.

I think 14 is a bit low?

This is the PC pitstop thingy rating.

CPU Type - Intel Pentium 4
Clock MHz - 2667
CPU Score - 4502
Memory Score - 5679
Disk Score - 14

The 3DMark file didn't install properly because of a 'big' error. I can't be bothered to download it again!

Looking at those scores though it all seems fine. I'm still really really confused though. I don't know what to do. :(

I'm gonna try Quake 3.
