"Instead of that weirdo irritating us all the time, I say we kill him."
This is how it was originally written.
This is how Your Honour thinks it should be written.
"Instead of that weirdo, irritating us all the time, I say we kill him."
Now... surely it DOESN'T need a comma? Please, discuss and argue this.
I know this is a pointless topic... but I don't think this one is going to make much of a difference to the already made mountains of rubbish topics...

If you read it out loud it sounds ridiculous with a pause in the middle.
;0)
I pointed out that if you read the 2 posts by me and Grix which put the sentence together, it makes no sense at all.
I wasn't talking about a comma!! I'm saying that in the story Meka was replying to something I said, and he was talking about me, so how does, "that weirdo irritating..." make sense???
This is what it's all about, not a damn comma!!
Even with the comma it doesn't make sense!!
If you read the actual 2 posts, you will see that YH is right.
...who are you going to kill
**er-no is trying to hide behind pencil**
1) It goes before the conjunction that joins two independent clauses: I like him, and he likes me.
Not applicable to this case
2) It separates items in a series: I am studying geology, ecology, and sociology.
Not applicable to this case.
3) A set of commas acts as parentheses around a non-restrictive clause or phrase.
Not applicable in this case
4) It sometimes follows an introductory word or phrase: Smiling, she handed me a gift.
Not applicable in this case
Therefore,* the comma is not needed in this case.
*Notice subtle use of point 4 here.
