Not bad, but seems a bit premature. Personally I'd have liked more work to be pumped into the DS game they announced, and have that out quicker.

I just bought the original again last week when I picked up my GC. I like it but the second one needs a much longer life-span. I know Harvest Moon's life-span is stated as being at least 100 hours, but you can pretty much do everything in under 20. However, it is probably the most relaxing game available on any console, ideal after a crappy day at the office.

The first 4 hours of the original were absolute genius.
As long as it doesn't take 24 hours to water some flowers I may consider...
Sounds good. The first one was interesting for a time (until you get the girl and that's about it..) Sowing/harvesting/watering individual squares of crops drove me up the wall eventually though.

Yes, the original ruled. I'm just worried with the "sometime in 2005" release date we won't get it. PS2 gamers get Wonderful life as we get the new one.

Nastume's Harvest Moon team have a team dedicated to the console versions and the handheld versions. There's no point in over-loading the teams.
Want to discuss a waste of time? Well them dedicating both teams into re-developing "It's a wonderful life" and "friends of mineral town" to include a girl instead of a guy.
Why not develop this new one better and have the guy/girl option in that. Which apparently will be included.
