Not bad, but seems a bit premature. Personally I'd have liked more work to be pumped into the DS game they announced, and have that out quicker.
They've completely gotten rid of the old realistic look and made it alot more cartoony.. maybe indicating a more light-hearted game instead of the rather dull gameplay we all soon got bored of.
And look down the bottom of the picature.. that shexy beast Nami is back! Whooo!
I found what there was very enchanting though, and you could get lost in the game.

Nope. 1 / 10th of the game.
That's not a particularly large part.
It just needed some more imagination - more room to build your farm up to massive self-reliant beast, more animals, more changes and, as you said, something actually decent running along side it.

I enjoyed it when I was playing it, I just failed to urge myself to play it after a year of the game.
A year was still a large part of the game. The developers need a "quest" to run along side the life part of the game to propel people to continue. I know it spoils the point but if we had a sorta "woo the girl" task each year it would be good.
Year 1: Woo the Girl
Year 2: Find the thief amongst the town people
Year 3: locate the missing person
This requires several clues, a bit like cludo.

The problem I found with having too much money, was that after you bought all the buildings, all two of them, there was nowt else to buy. The money kept building up, but there was no-where to spend it.
The first one ruled for most of the first year (excluding the boring bits) then blew its face off with a shotgun for the rest of the entire game. You could see everything the game has to offer in a year and a half.
Actually, no. It did suck.

Major difference in opinion then.
